Ali Abedini is the inaugural Chief AI Officer at Metropolitan Commercial Bank, building the bank’s Office of Artificial Intelligence from the ground up and leading its shift from AI-ready to AI-native. He came to MCB from TD Bank, where as SVP and Head of Advanced Analytics & AI he built one of the largest AI organizations in banking — delivering 160+ AI/ML solutions and more than $157 million in measurable business value — co-led the bank’s OCC AI/ML examination, and served as Principal Investigator to the NIST AI Safety Institute Consortium. Ali is known for cutting through hype to make AI actually work in one of the world’s most regulated industries. He holds a PhD in Public Policy focused on quantitative risk modeling. His mantra: governance first, innovation always.
